The Bible is never silent on any social problem. The Bible speaks loud and clear to all drug addicts. It exposes his heart – diagnoses his problem – pinpoints his predicament- and offers a positive, lifetime solution – and motivates and prepares him for a new life. While the experts argue and the researchers punch the IBM cards with conflicting statistics and solutions, the Bible offers a sound, direct and simple answer that never changes.
The Bible refers to drugs and its usage as sorceries or witchcraft. This is taken from the Greek word pharmakon meaning drug.
There are over 200 Bible verses that deal directly with the addict and his problem. The Teen Challenge Staff has listed here only a few. These we call “THE SELF STARTER VERSES” and “BIBLE MOTIVATORS”
